Part 1
Two men stood side to side glancing out at the mountains of sand.
"How the heck are we going to get out of here?" One man asked. He looked everything like a old western cowboy complete with spurs and a vintage hat.
"We just have to keep walking." The other man replied. He had a suit and tie on, with a briefcase in hand. He was a modern businessman alright.
"Keep walking?! That's the stupidest things I ever heard!"
"Relax. Just hope."
"Hope? I'll be dead!"
The western man, which we will call Cowboy spat on the sand. Buzzards flew over to see if it was food. No food but they sucked it up anyways. They were desperate for any type of substance. Cowboy took out his gun and shot one of the buzzards. The businessman, who we will call Modern ducked and covered, wondering what was going on.
"Why did you do that? Modern asked when he had recovered. He brushed the sand of his pants although it made no difference.
"Now we have some food in this darn place."
Modern sighed. He usually let nothing bother him but Cowboy was far from happy... and a person.
"Maybe if we work together we can figure something out." Modern suggested.
"I didn't choose to be here! It was you and your big old mouth! Why should I work with a man that I don't even know?"
"It was either this or worse. I saved your life and risked mine with it."
Cowboy paced back and forth considering this.
"I think I'm gonna work by myself." He proclaimed sticking his fingers in his belt loops.
"You did that already right? You just ended up in the same place."
"Ya welllll.... so I was wrong once in my life. Big whoop!"
"Maybe if we work to-"
"Fine! I get it. Let's start moving then."
Cowboy and Modern started again, facing the blazing sun. They walked and walked until they couldn't feel anymore. Sweat pored down their faces making the cowboy look rougher and the businessman sloppier. Cowboy was tough, and even though he had never been in a situation like this he had many hard trials that he had to pull through. Modern happened to be a hard working man but nothing like this had crossed his path. He didn't like associating with annoying people which made the situation even harder. It wasn't until dark until the two stopped. Modern slumped to the ground while Cowboy looked down at him.
"You rest your pretty eyes sweetheart. Tomorrow is going to get tougher." Cowboy said sneering.
Modern showed no sign of distress but inside he was yelling. He closed his eyes and immediately fell asleep.
